Community & National FBA Updates:
On March 22, 2022, the U.S. Senate confirmed U.S. Magistrate Judge Ruth Bermudez Montenegro as a U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of California. Judge Montenegro also previously served as an Imperial County Superior Court Judge and has been widely recognized for her service to the community.
FBA National shares updates on legislation affecting the judiciary and judicial nominations.
Law students and young federal practitioners are encouraged to submit essays by May 13, 2022, for this new National FBA essay contest that includes cash and publication prizes.
This April 14, 2022, webinar will feature a panel discussion addressing the benefits and detriments of the qualified immunity doctrine in civil rights cases.
