The Federal Lawyer, the bimonthly magazine of the national Federal Bar Association, seeks roughly 600-word submissions that tell the story of law “firsts” or “trailblazers” in your practice area. For example, who was the first lawyer of color to become a partner at a historically white law firm in your area? Who was the first female lawyer to serve as your area’s federal, state, or country prosecutor? Who was the first openly gay lawyer to serve as a judge on your local federal or state court?
If you are interested in submitting, please get permission from the featured individual and send your submission (along with a photo of the featured person if possible) to social@fedbar.org by January 4, 2022. The FBA hopes to publish as many submissions as possible in an upcoming edition of The Federal Lawyer, and some firsts or trailblazers may even be invited to sit for an interview with the President of the FBA.
