The Federal Bar Association’s Younger Lawyers Division selected San Diego Chapter member Dylan M. Aste as one of five recipients nationwide of the 2020 Younger Federal Lawyer Award. This award honors exceptional younger lawyers (no more than 40 years old) who attain high standards of professional achievement and support the Younger Lawyers Division.

Dylan currently serves as the Special Events Chair on the San Diego Chapter’s Board of Directors. He is an Assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California, where he is assigned to the Affirmative Civil Enforcement Unit and focuses on prosecuting matters related to health care fraud. He is also the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s Opioid Coordinator and the Co-Chair of its Diversity Committee. Further, Dylan serves on the Board of Directors of the University of San Diego School of Law Alumni Association and is an active member of the Louis M. Welsh Inn of Court.

Traditionally, the Younger Federal Lawyer Awards are presented at the FBA’s Annual Meeting and Convention. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, recipients accepted their awards remotely this year. In the most San Diego way possible, Dylan accepted his award from the beach and thanked members of the San Diego Chapter and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for their support.

The San Diego Chapter congratulates Dylan on his award.
