W. West Allen, the President of the National Federal Bar Association, released the following statement in response to the events on January 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol:
We as citizens of the United States honor the constitution and the rule of law when we reject fear, anger, and anarchy. All have the right to protest, vote, and seek change peacefully under the law. None has the right to use violence or incite anarchy in response to political disappointments within a democracy. I invite all Americans to practice grace, civility, and understanding in public life.
