During the Courtroom Conversation, attendees will have the opportunity to network and connect with Judge Huie and colleagues during the first 20 minutes of the program. During the remaining 40 minutes of the program, Judge Huie will discuss his path to the federal bench and practice pointers for civil and criminal practitioners. The San Diego FBA is pleased to co-sponsor a special virtual presentation on Supreme Court ethics with the Los Angeles FBA Chapter. We will hear from a distinguished panel discussing a historical perspective of Supreme Court ethics and issues such as whether Congress has jurisdiction to impose a code of ethics, issues of public trust, and the term limits debate.

Award season is underway and we need your help! The San Diego FBA will proudly present the following awards at its Annual Conference: (1) the Outstanding Advocate Award; (2) the Distinguished Service Award; and (3) the Rising Attorney Award. Calling all high school students in San Diego and Imperial Counties: submissions are now being accepted for the 2023 Ninth Circuit Civics Contest. Students are invited to submit an essay and/or video to address this year's prompt: The 28th Amendment - What Should Our Next Constitutional Amendment Be?
