Member Spotlight: Elizabeth Balfour

Elizabeth Balfour is a litigator and partner at Sheppard Mullin’s Del Mar office. Elizabeth is a staunch supporter of the local San Diego community, the federal bar, and young women leaders. 2024 Award Winners & Judicial Reception

On May 15, 2024, the San Diego FBA held the Inaugural Judicial Reception & Awards Ceremony atop the Carté Hotel. More than 100 attendees enjoyed sunset views, fine food and beverage, engaging conversations with colleagues, and celebrating the incredible contributions of the awardees.

The Honorable Gonzalo P. Curiel received the Judicial Service Award, Janet Cabral received the Outstanding Advocate Award, Zandra Luz Lopez received the Distinguished Service Award, and Katie Hurrelbrink received the Rising Attorney Award. Read more about the esteemed honorees here.

This free event will touch on the various contexts in which trade secret issues arise, how to identify them, and best practices for litigating trade secret claims in federal court.

 

The panel will feature United States District Judge Cathy Ann Bencivengo, Jones Day partner Randy Kay, Qualcomm Senior Patent Counsel Byron Yafuso, and retired United States District Judge and Judicate West neutral Larry A. Burns.
