Desislava Kalcheva is the Career Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable William V. Gallo, the Southern District of California's Presiding U.S. Magistrate Judge. The National FBA presented the inaugural Peter J. Mazza Outstanding Federal Lawyer Award, with a moving speech by Peter's widow, Megan Mazza, to Mack Jenkins. Joseph S. Leventhal (above), Past President of the San Diego FBA, also received the Elaine R. “Boots” Fisher Award.

The San Diego FBA participated in the National FBA's Capitol Hill Day, which gives FBA members the exclusive opportunity to serve as representatives for the FBA in communication with Congress. The FBA’s Criminal Law Section is offering two $1,500 scholarships for graduating 3Ls interested in pursuing a career in criminal law serving the public interest. Applications are due June 1.
