United States District Court Jury Assembly Room
Please join us and our friends in the San Diego County Bar Association's Appellate Practice and Civil Sections for a discussion among former U.S. Supreme Court law clerks about their experiences on the Court. Ninth Circuit Judge John Owens, former law clerk to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, will lead the discussion. Please feel free to send questions for the panel to Adrian Contreras, Deputy Attorney General at the California Department of Justice and Master of Ceremonies for the event. Although the panel may not be able to answer every question, they will do their best.

San Diego FBA Elections!
Chapter members will receive a ballot via email on October 20, 2023 and may cast ballots through October 30, 2023. If you don't receive a ballot, please email us and we'll help you check your membership status.

The Southern District proposed amendments to Civil Local Rule 7.1.e, changing the deadline for opposition papers, and Civil Local Rule 72.3, setting ENEs and Settlement Conferences for Section 1983 Prisoner Civil Cases. The Public Comment period ends on October 20, 2023.
New Transcript Rates
The Southern District's new transcript rates per page became effective on October 1, 2023.
