San Diego FBA members attended the great 2022 FBA Annual Meeting & Convention in Charleston, South Carolina.
The San Diego FBA proudly received the 2022 Chapter of the Year Award! This award recognized our superior activities, including in programming, membership outreach, and administration. But we didn't stop there. The San Diego FBA also received the 2022 Meritorious Newsletter Award. Thank you, members, for your commitment and service to the San Diego FBA. This recognition would not have been possible without you.

FBA member Connie Wu received a Younger Federal Lawyer Award, which recognizes outstanding professional achievements and performance over a sustained period along with significant contributions to the legal profession and community. Readers can learn more about Connie's achievements as a federal lawyer in our Member Spotlight, Connie Wu: Empowered to Serve.
The San Diego FBA was also fortunate to have Megan Mazza present the Peter J. Mazza Outstanding Federal Lawyer Award to Barbara M. Bowens. Peter Mazza is a past president of the San Diego FBA. Sadly, in 2020, Pete passed away at the age of 42. At the time of his passing, Pete was the First Assistant in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California, second only to the U.S. Attorney. The Peter J. Mazza Award is presented as a memorial to the outstanding, inspirational, and selfless leadership Pete Mazza demonstrated throughout his life, both professionally and in his community service. Both Megan and Barbara provided heartwarming speeches honoring the memory of Pete.
